School web sites show a wide audience around the world, what the school has to offer. With particular  areas pertinent to, parents, professionals and pupils, where it can share information and also promote its achievements.

Aim

This Policy is designed for School Web Sites which are created by VisionMakers Web Design. The Policy was created to protect pupils from the ever increasing dangers of the internet, regarding their identities being exposed to undesirable individuals, through the school web site.  Also to ensure schools meet the stringent requirements, as to not let this happen.

Photographs

Photographs will display no less than three pupils.

Names will not be included near photographs, where a link can be made, directly to pupils.

Only appropriate photographs should be included, in full clothing, not swimming attire, unless the picture is taken from a distance where a number of pupils are involved and picture focus is unclear. e.g. canoeing or swimming.

Photographs of pupil’s work should not include the pupil unless again there are more than three pupils.  The title for this type of photograph, will be quite general, although year groups can be included in the title. For example Yr 6 making Clay models, rather than Kevin and Paul making a clay face model, taken from work by Kandinski as part of their - - - course work.

Parental permission must be given, before photographs of their child is published, this can be in the form of general induction to the school, Home/School agreement or a letter which is returned only if the parent/Guardian does not wish photographs of their child to appear on the web site.

If permission is refused, all photographs must be checked before publishing, to make sure that   particular pupil is not pictured.   Only photos of pupils supplied by the school will be published on the web site.
